[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]APPEARANCE
[attr="class","hopelovetop"][attr="class","hopelovesub"]HAIR // Black[break]EYES // Dark brown[break]SKIN // Mixed[break][break]ATTIRE[break][break] Quirky and eclectic seems to define Tanya's style, if that's what you could call it. She usually elects to wear muted colours, many of which look like they've been rescued from a thrift store. Occasionally she will spice things up with an accessory or two, a habit she's picked up from Tanice, rather than Taliah. [break][break]GENERAL[break][break] Sharing the same striking looks as her sisters, Tanya's mixed heritage is clear, though she is darker than either of her sisters, showing more of their African American heritage than either of her elder sisters. That is made particularly clear in her hair, which is often tightly curled, naturally, rather than through cosmetic efforts.
[break][break]
She's taller than average, tall enough that she can mock her sisters for their diminutive stature, even if the difference is only an inch or two. Her eyes, though dark, betray the spark of wit, though the bright flash of a smile rarely splits her features. She usually wears minimal makeup, unlike both of her sisters, and doesn't rely upon diet to maintain her figure, instead taking part in regular exercise.

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]PERSONALITY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]Tanya is closer to her mother than her elder sisters, but has learned not to rely on her for anything, even if her worst days are behind her. Maybe as a result of that she is less likely to rely on other people as well. Also unlike her sisters, Tanya frequently dwells on the nature of her father's death.
[break][break]
She has a wary relationship with her sisters, being closer to Tanice than Taliah. She doesn't harbour negative feelings towards either of them, but it would be easy to see she isn't as close as the two twins are to each other. Though this might be put down to simple connection between twins, Tanya feels it's more than that. She was too young to really know their father, and has always been seen as the twin's baby sister. Perhaps a little, deep down she envy's them for that.

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]HISTORY
[attr="class","hopelovetop"]Anya was born the third child of Jaheim Dawson, once a High School football star. Her mother, Anya, had met Jaheim in High School, and like a true Romeo and Juliet the two had married against the desires of their parents only a few months after they first met. Unfortunately Jaheim's football career ended before it started, with a serious injury destroying all chance of playing professionally.Though the two struggled financially, they were still delighted to find that Anya was pregnant. Unfortunately that pregnancy was shown to be twins. Though the Dawson's were still overjoyed, their finances grew tighter still, leading to a dependence on multiple jobs. Somehow, they managed to make ends meet, barely.
[break][break]
Tanya, threw a spanner in those works. It became clear that Anya would have to care for the three young children, and doing so would limit the family's ability to make ends meet. As a result Jaheim took another job in order to support his burgeoning family. Tanya has never quite forgiven herself for what came next.
[break][break]
Knowing that his absence and the three children were taking their toll on his wife, Jaheim took a stop on his way home to buy flowers. No one could have predicted that his thoughtful gesture would have resulted in his death, but it did. Jaheim died taking a bullet that would otherwise have hit a young girl. Sacrificing himself for someone else, as he had done all his life.
[break][break]
Anya couldn't take the loss of her husband, or the pressure of raising three kids alone. She turned to drink to numb the pain of her loss. As a result Taliah, Tanya's eldest sister, found herself forced into parenting her two sisters. Worse, she had to act as caretaker to her own mother. When the inevitable happened and Anya got a questionable boyfriend, a heated altercation occurred between Taliah and him. Taliah was temporarily removed from the home and the duty of caring for Tanya fell to Tanice.
[break][break]
The continued attention of the social services led to Anya cleaning up her act. Trevor left and thing slowly seemed to improve in the Dawson household, even with the increased tension between Tanice and Taliah. Eventually the twins reconciled their differences enough to get both of them through high school, though neither went to college.
[break][break]
Tanya, on the other hand, proved to be a superb student. She excelled in high school, becoming valedictorian, and being accepted into Stanford on a full academic scholarship only confirmed that. It was fortunate that she had earned the scholarship, her chances of attending Stanford would have been next to none otherwise.
[break][break]
It was a little over a year after her acceptance into Stanford that the Event happened. Tanya went without much issue for some time after the Event, not even realising that her exposure to the agent had affected her. She realised a few months later, with her then boyfriend. In a somewhat intimate moment she caught an accidental glimpse of his memories, memories of a similar situation, with another woman. Confused and upset, things didn't end well that night, and Tanya's relationship ended soon afterwards.
[break][break]
Now she keeps her abilities hidden, fortunately her ex didn't put two and two together. Tanya fears that should her power to read and manipulate memory be discovered, there would be far too much attention paid to her exams, so much so that she might even lose her scholarship, though they wouldn't dare have her expelled. Her sisters know, but none beyond that.

[attr="class","hopelovetitle"]POWER
[attr="class","hopelovetop"][attr="class","hopelovesub"]ABILITY[break][break] MEMORY MANIPULATION [break][break]
Tanya possesses the ability to read, absorb and manipulate the memories of individuals. Like her sister Tanice, she requires physical contact in order to form a bond strong enough to do this, but once she has done so, can do almost anything with a person's memories. The human mind is a strangely elastic thing, and when Tanya changes someone's memories, their brain will fill in most of the extraneous detail for her, allowing her to recover faded or lost memories or even convincingly fake memories in someone else's head.
[break][break]
This can have strange effects, people's personalities don't change overnight, even if their memories are rewritten, and theoretically people could have memories and a 'past' that does not match the person they actually are, at least until the weight of those memories slowly change their personality. [break][break] EIDETIC MEMORY [break][break]
A side effect of Tanya's ability is that she can manipulate her own memory. This has allowed her to make it far superior to that of any normal human, while not infallible, it allows her to recall obscure facts and specific details about moments far in the past. It also has the unfortunate consequence of leaving her more than capable of holding a grudge. She always remembers exactly what you did wrong. [break][break]
LIMITS[break][break] MEMORY MANIPULATION [break][break]
While difficult to detect, it is possible for someone to identify that their memories have been affected. This can be through some inconsistency in the memory, or the original memory attempting to return to it's rightful place. In addition, any complex manipulation requires Tanya to have prolonged physical contact with the subject, she cannot simply delete memories with a touch, it needs to last longer. [break][break]
Eidetic memory [break][break]
Tanya's eidetic memory only stretches back to the Event, and she cannot seem to recall with any additional accuracy any events preceding that. It is also fallible, she can make mistakes or misremember things, though simply at a far lower rate than a normal person. Her memory is exceptional, not perfect. [break][break]WEAKNESSES[break][break]
Tanya's ability to absorb memories means she could quite easily possess more memories than any normal human should. Though her brain has adapted to her powers in some ways, it is still possible for her to confuse someone else's memories with her own, or even be overwhelmed by the memories of another. Theoretically she could even start suffering from personality disorders as a result of other people's memories affecting 'how she grew up'. [break][break]
